Who Besos de Angelica is made by Angélica García Vázquez, a master mezcalera (maestra mezcalera). She is a multi-generational producer who took over full management of her family's palenque (distillery) after her husband passed away, making her one of the few women in the region to own and operate her own production facility. |

What The flavor profile of Besos de Angelica Mezcal Artesanal varies by the agave used, but it is generally celebrated for being elegant, balanced, and vibrant. Because Angélica García Vázquez uses traditional pit roasting and copper distillation, you can expect a well-integrated smoke character rather than an overwhelming one. Initially starts with scents of subtle smoke and bright citrus notes like kumquat and guava. You may also pick up aromas of woody green herbs, fresh clay, and wet stone. Its silky textureʻs key flavors include violets, hints of spice, and a mesquite quality. Some batches are noted for a tropical explosion of mango, pineapple, and strawberries and cream. The finish is clean and somewhat dry and peppery, with a lingering minerality and a touch of dark chocolate. |

Why Angélica is a second-generation producer who continues methods her parents began during the Mexican prohibition. She is also the daughter-in-law of Bertha Vásquez, a legendary figure who paved the way for women in mezcal. |
