What Bladnoch Talia 25 Year Lowland Single Malt tastes like spicy honey, rich gingerbread, sweet vanilla oakiness, and a subtle burst of sharp Seville orange. Because it sits in oak for a quarter of a century, it drops the light, grassy, and floral fragility of a young Lowland whisky and instead develops a deeply decadent, dessert-like complexity. It opens with a sophisticated, antique bouquet. You are greeted by wood polish, beeswax, honeycomb, and ginger cookies. This is balanced by fruitier notes of tangerine, ripe apples, and blossom honey, with just a tiny hint of classic Lowland cut grass. It features an incredibly soft, rich, and tongue-coating mouthfeel. The flavor begins with deep sweets of caramel, vanilla pod, and cookie dough. Mid-sip, it brings forward deeper elements from its multi-cask aging process, flashing notes of tinned peaches and cream, clementines, and malty barley. The exit is long-lasting, comforting, and sophisticated. The brand-new American oak finish shows up late, leaving a lightly drying aftermath of polished oak, warm clove, and a lingering kick of cardamom spice. |

Why The architecture of this flavor profile was designed by Dr. Nick Savage, one of the most famous and respected Master Distillers in the entire Scotch industry. Before jumping ship to Bladnoch, Dr. Savage was the Master Distiller for The Macallan, where he famously curated some of the most expensive and luxury whiskies ever sold on Earth. He used that exact same legendary blending precision to bring the Talia 25 to life. |
