Icon 1 Who
Bosca Tosti Cardamaro Vino Amaro is made by the Italian, family-owned winery Tosti1820, also known as Giovanni Bosca Tosti Ivi S.p.a.. The company has been producing wine and amaro in the heart of the Piemonte region of Italy since 1820 and is currently run by the eighth generation of the Bosca family. The original recipe was created in the 1950s by Rachele Torlasco Bosca, an herbalist and ancestor of the current owners

Icon 3 What
Bosca Tosti Cardamaro Vino Amaro is a unique Italian fortified wine-based amaro (bitter liqueur), distinguished by its central flavor of cardoon (cardi in Italian) and cardamom. It is a milder, lower-proof alternative to traditional amari. Unlike typical amari made from a neutral spirit base, Cardamaro is made from a base of Muscat wine, which is then fortified, infused with botanicals, and aged in oak barrels. This results in a lighter, wine-like body. Expect a complex, warm, and spicy aroma. The primary scent is of baked goods and spices, with notes of gingerbread, cinnamon, and clove, rounded out by mild citrus and earthy undertones. The flavor is a sophisticated balance of sweet wine richness and herbal bitterness. The star ingredient, cardoon (a thistle plant related to the artichoke), imparts a distinctive earthy bitterness, while cardamom delivers warm spice and a slightly cooling finish. Notes of caramel, raisins, and baked apple are also present. Bosca Tosti Cardamaro Vino Amaro has a smooth, long-lasting finish that is gently bitter and spicy.
Icon 4 Why
Bosca Tosti Cardamaro Vino Amaro is a late-afternoon revelation delivering an earthy, savory bitterness that awakens the appetite without overwhelming. At 17% ABV, it occupies the elegant middle ground between fortified wine and traditional digestif—perfect for those moments when you want something more complex than vermouth but less intense than a full amaro. Sip it neat or on the rocks as the afternoon transitions to evening, and let its nuanced profile set the tone for what's ahead.
