What Dunville’s 1808 Irish Whiskey is a modern, light-bodied blend known for its vibrant citrus notes and a surprising, subtle hint of smoke. On the nose expect an initial burst of sweet vanilla and orchard fruits (apples and pears). This transitions into lemon curd and candied lemon peel over a foundation of clean malt. It has a soft and creamy mouthfeel. You’ll taste buttery notes, baked biscuits, and a bright lemon acidity. Some tasters also note hints of honey, aniseed, and white pepper. The finish is relatively short but clean, featuring sweet spices and a distinct wisp of dry smoke or charred oak. |

Why The Echlinville Distillery is a rare field-to-bottle operation. They grow their own barley on their family farm, malt it on-site, and distill it. While the 1808 is a blend that includes sourced whiskey, the Single Pot Still component (the heart of Irish whiskey) is made right there on the estate. |
