![]() | Who Faccia Brutto Amaro Gorini is made by Faccia Brutto Spirits, an artisanal distillery founded and led by former executive chef Patrick Miller. The spirit is deeply personal; Amaro Gorini is named after Miller's grandmother, Lena Pianta (whose maiden name was Gorini), who was a fan of Southern Italian amari. |

![]() | What Faccia Brutto Amaro Gorini is a medium-bodied amaro that strikes a balance between traditional Italian recipes and a modern flavor profile. It is often described as an "entry-level" amaro because it is approachable and citrus-forward rather than aggressively bitter. You’ll notice an immediate scent of bright orange zest, followed by warm baking spices like cinnamon, star anise, and clove. It has a rich, silky texture sweetened with chestnut honey. This provides a deep, earthy sweetness that moves into notes of fennel seed, roasted rhubarb, and cola. It ends with a gentle, savory bitterness from gentian root. A unique "chef’s touch" is the addition of a tiny pinch of sea salt, which suppresses the harshest bitter notes and makes the orange and spice flavors "pop." |
![]() | Why Just as a chef finishes a dish, Miller adds a touch of salt to all his spirits before bottling. This technique harmonizes the sweet and bitter notes and helps the botanicals "pop" on the palate. |
