Icon 3 What
Farolito Mezcal Horno is an ancestral spirit that is prized for its silky, sophisticated, and earthy profile. Because it is distilled in clay pots (ollas de barro), it has a distinctive mineral texture that feels softer and "rounder" than mezcals distilled in copper. The nose is subtle but complex, featuring vegetal notes, fresh lime, and a punch of black pepper. You may also notice a sweet, floral scent like honeysuckle. On the palate, it has a beautiful confectionary sweetness. Key notes include vanilla bean, powdered sugar, and caramelized spicy peppers. This is balanced by a refreshing hint of fresh mint. The clay distillation gives it a creamy, velvet-like mouthfeel. It is known for being incredibly smooth, even at higher proofs. The finish is long and "stony," with a dry, mineral character that reflects the desert terroir of Nochixtlán.
Icon 4 Why
Farolito Mezcal Horno uses Agave Americana (Horno), a massive plant that takes up to 20 years to mature. This long growth cycle concentrates sugars and produces the deep, complex "dessert" notes like vanilla and caramel.
