Icon 3 What
Fred Jerbis Amaro 16 is an artisanal Italian amaro (bitter liqueur) produced by Federico "Fred" Cremasco in the Friuli region of Italy. It is a lighter, drier, and more aromatic version of a traditional Italian amaro, designed to be highly versatile. Expect a delicate, floral, and herbaceous aroma dominated by notes of linden leaf, ash leaf, and orange peel. It is noticeably drier and less sweet than mainstream amari. Flavors include rhubarb root, licorice, dried currants, and a subtle earthiness. The bitterness is present but elegant and restrained, not aggressive or medicinal. It offers a clean, balanced, and refreshingly bitter finish that is long-lasting without being cloying.
Icon 4 Why
Fred Jerbis Amaro 16 is unique for its "garden-to-glass" production philosophy, lower sugar content, and delicate, aromatic flavor profile that sets it apart from traditional Italian amari. The producer, Federico "Fred" Cremasco, personally cultivates or forages nearly all of the 16 botanicals used in the amaro from his own land and the surrounding foothills of the Dolomites in the Friuli region of Italy. This focus on local, fresh ingredients ensures high quality and a genuine sense of terroir.
