What Fred Jerbis Bitter 34 is a complex, craft alternative to Campari, offering a much more herbal, earthy, and natural flavor profile. Because it uses no artificial dyes, it has a distinct orange-amber hue rather than bright red. It is incredibly aromatic, with a forest-like scent. You’ll notice pine, rosemary, and eucalyptus mixed with bright citrus oils and a hint of medicinal roots. The taste is s bittersweet and layered. It starts with citrus peel and woodsy spice, which transitions into a deep, savory bitterness from gentian and wormwood. Unlike mass-market bitters, it has a "raw" botanical quality—tasting like crushed fresh herbs. The finish is very long and dry. It leaves a cooling sensation of mint and licorice on the back of the throat, with a persistent, clean bitterness. |

Why Federico doesn't just buy dried herbs from a wholesaler. He is a trained herbalist who forages many of the ingredients himself in the pristine Carnia woodlands of Northern Italy. This gives the spirit a specific terroir—it tastes like the damp, aromatic forest floor of the Italian Alps. |
