	What Hakutsuru Ume Plum Liqueur is known for its bold, super-rich fruity flavor that perfectly balances luscious sweetness with a refreshing tang. Because it is crafted in the traditional Genshu style (undiluted), it has a more concentrated and intense profile than many standard plum wines. It features a deep, velvety palate of ripe plum and stone fruits like apricot and peach. This is often described as a "liquid Sour Patch Kid" experience—initially sweet but followed by a lively, tart zing. The nose is highly fragrant, offering a burst of plum interwoven with delicate whispers of almond, marzipan, and cherry blossoms. It has a smooth, long-lasting finish that leaves a gentle fruity warmth and a slightly bitter undertone that adds complexity.
	Why While often grouped together, this liqueur (Umeshu) is generally bolder and higher in alcohol (often around 19.5% ABV) than typical plum wines, which usually sit around 10–12% ABV. This higher proof makes its sweetness feel more balanced and less cloying.
