What Humano Tequila Añejo tastes like rich chocolate, warm cinnamon, and sweet caramel overlaid with a savory backbone of cooked agave, leather, and tobacco. Because it is aged for a full 12 months, the wood character takes a much grander role compared to their Reposado, though it still proudly retains its bright, citrusy highland terroir. : It opens with an elegant fruitiness reminiscent of cherries and apples. As it breathes, it reveals deeply decadent layers of vanilla pod, orange blossom, and a warm nuttiness, all cut by a touch of sharp white oak. : The entry is bold, velvety, and smooth. It leads with a sweet wave of toffee, vanilla cream, and caramel. Mid-sip, complex savory spices take over, introducing notes of cardamom, cinnamon, and agave pepperiness, rounded out by dark tones of bitter cacao, leather, and sweet tobacco. The exit is incredibly long-lasting and dry. It culminates in a warm, polished exhale of toasted white oak dryness and lingering baking spice. |

Why Instead of using massive wooden vats, Humano ages this tequila inside smaller, standard 200-liter oak barrels. This creates a high ratio of wood-to-liquid contact. The smaller barrel size accelerates the aging process, packing the deep, rich flavor profile of a much older 2- or 3-year-old tequila into a fresh, 12-month bottle. |
