	Who Lost Republic Straight Bourbon is produced by the Lost Republic Distilling Co., an artisanal establishment. The distillery was founded in 2013 by Colin Harter and Matthew Weese, two lifelong friends from Sonoma County. Matthew Weese, a former winemaker, serves as the Master Distiller and oversees the blending process.

	What Lost Republic Straight Bourbon is a classic High-Rye bourbon, which means it balances the sweet, creamy nature of corn with a noticeable spicy zip from the rye grain. It starts with very warm, traditional scents of toasted oak, maple syrup, and vanilla. Because of the high rye content, you’ll also pick up a spicy floral note, like dried orange peel and a hint of fresh cinnamon. It has a rich, medium-bodied mouthfeel. You’ll taste butterscotch and honey immediately, but that quickly shifts into a spicy mid-palate of black pepper and clove. There’s an underlying fruitiness, almost like poached pears or baked apples. It ends with a long, elegant snap. The finish is dominated by toasted pecans and dark chocolate, with a lingering warmth of rye spice that isn't overly hot.
	Why Bottled at 91.2 proof, it has just a bit more concentration than your standard 80 or 90-proof bourbons. This extra bit of strength helps the baking spices stand out, making it a great choice for cocktails where you don't want the spirit to get lost.
