Icon 1 Who
Gin Xoriguer has been crafted by the Pons family on the island of Menorca since 1736, making it one of the oldest gin distilleries in the world. The name "Mahón" comes from the island's capital city, Maó (Mahón in Spanish), where British naval officers first discovered this distinctive Mediterranean gin during their 18th-century occupation. For nearly three centuries, the Pons family has maintained their traditional production methods, passing down their expertise through generations and keeping alive the authentic taste of Menorcan gin.
Icon 2 Where
Distilled in Mahón, Menorca, in the Balearic Islands of Spain, this gin is made using wood-fired copper pot stills - a rarity in modern gin production. The distillery still uses the same traditional methods established in the 18th century, including burning olive and carob wood to heat the stills, which imparts subtle smoky notes to the spirit. The Mediterranean climate and local botanicals, including juniper berries and wild herbs from the island, give Mahón Gin its distinctive character that reflects the terroir of Menorca.
Icon 3 What
Mahón Gin delivers a bold, classic gin profile with Mediterranean character. The nose presents prominent juniper notes accompanied by herbal undertones and bright hints of citrus. On the palate, it's smooth and crisp with a slightly peppery kick, showcasing the pure juniper-forward style that made this gin famous among British naval officers centuries ago. The wood-fired distillation adds subtle complexity and a gentle warmth. The finish is clean and refreshing with lingering juniper and a touch of Mediterranean herbs
Icon 4 Why
Mahón Gin represents nearly three centuries of unbroken tradition and the authentic taste of Mediterranean gin-making. In a world of modern, botanical-heavy gins, Mahón stays true to its roots with a pure, juniper-forward profile that showcases what gin was meant to be. Whether you're mixing classic cocktails, enjoying a refreshing gin and tonic, or sipping it neat to appreciate its craftsmanship, Mahón Gin delivers quality and authenticity. This is gin with a story - one that connects you to the sun-drenched island of Menorca, the British Royal Navy, and centuries of distilling tradition.
