Icon 1 Who
Mal Bien White Tape Espadín is produced by Oscar Morales García and his family in the village of San Dionisio Ocotepec, Oaxaca. The "White Tape" expression is a legacy spirit originally crafted by Oscar’s late father, Lucio Morales López, a multi-generational maestro mezcalero. Following Lucio's passing in 2021, Oscar and his cousins have continued the tradition as the fourth generation of the family to run Casa Lucio Morales.

San Dionisio Ocotepec, Central Valleys region of Oaxaca, Mexico.
Icon 3 What
Mal Bien White Tape Espadín is characterized by a savory and earthy profile, often described as a quintessential "everyday sipper" because it is balanced and approachable. Unlike the tropical fruit-forward notes of the Angelisco Tequila or the Derrumbes Durango mezcal, this Oaxacan Espadín leans into roasted meat and roasted agave flavors.
Icon 4 Why
Mal Bien is famous for its "Tape" color-coding system. The White Tape specifically signifies their "Classic" line—cultivated agaves produced in larger (but still artisanal) volumes. This transparency allows you to know exactly who made it (the Morales family) and where (San Dionisio Ocotepec) without the marketing mystery common in bigger brands.
