Icon 1 Who
Nardini Amaro is made by Bortolo Nardini (or Distilleria Nardini), a historic, family-owned distillery renowned as Italy's oldest operating distillery. The Nardini family has continuously produced spirits, including grappa and various liqueurs, since the company's founding by Bortolo Nardini in 1779 in Bassano del Grappa, within the Veneto region of Italy. The seventh generation of the family still oversees the production today, maintaining a long-standing tradition of quality and artisanal methods.

Icon 3 What
Nardini Amaro is a classic, dark-brown Italian digestif known for its unique balance of bitter orange, peppermint, and earthy licorice. Produced by Italy's oldest distillery, it is often described as more approachable than aggressive amari like Fernet-Branca, yet more complex and minty than sweeter options like Averna. The palate is dominated by a cooling peppermint sensation that transitions into deep, warm notes of dark chocolate, espresso, and roasted sugar. Expect an intense fragrance of orange zest, licorice, and mint, with subtle hints of tobacco leaf and herbal spices.Nardini Amaro has a rich, velvety texture and a relatively light body compared to syrupy liqueurs, finishing with a lingering, clean bitterness from gentian root.
Icon 4 Why
Its chocolate-mint profile makes it a popular substitute in a Black Manhattan, or as a complex bittering agent in variations of the Paper Plane and Negroni. Nardini Amaro also pairs exceptionally well with soda water for a refreshing highball or even in a chocolate milkshake.
