What Real Minero Espadín offers an incredibly complex, elegant profile that trades the aggressive, heavy smoke of commercial mezcals for the soft, earthy signature of ancestral clay-pot distillation. The nose greets you with bright aromas of mint, wet earth, and roasted agave, layered with a distinct savory salinity. On the palate, its silky, full-bodied texture delivers a beautiful harmony of ripe tropical fruit, dark chocolate, and black pepper, accompanied by a subtle, dusty clay minerality. The finish is remarkably long and clean, fading into a delicate blend of sweet baking spices, mild wood smoke, and an herbal freshness. |

Why Real Minero is entirely family-run, spanning four to five generations of ancestral knowledge: Edgar Ángeles Carreño oversees all agricultural sourcing, roasting, and distillation. He took over production following the passing of his iconic father, Don Lorenzo Ángeles Mendoza, in 2016. His sister, Graciela Ángeles Carreño, manages the business, brand development, and international marketing. She is widely celebrated in the spirits industry as a fierce pioneer for agave sustainability, seed conservation, and female leadership in a traditionally male-dominated field. Their mother, Doña Florentina, traditionally oversees the meticulous hand-bottling of their small batches. |
