Icon 3 What
Redbreast 12 is the gold standard for Single Pot Still whiskey, known for being incredibly creamy, fruity, and spicy. Because it uses a mix of malted and unmalted barley, it has a chewier and more substantial texture than standard Irish blends. You’ll smell dried fruits (sultanas and figs), toasted nuts, and a very distinct baking spice aroma—think nutmeg and cinnamon. It has a legendary oily, silky mouthfeel. The flavor is a rich mix of honey, creamy vanilla, and butterscotch, balanced by a pot still spice that feels like a gentle prickle of black pepper and ginger. The finish is long and sophisticated. It leaves a lingering taste of toasted oak and sweet spices, with a final creamy note that makes it feel very luxurious.
Icon 4 Why
Redbreast is famous for its intensive use of Oloroso Sherry casks. The distillery has a dedicated "Master of Wood" who travels to the "Sherry Triangle" in Spain to hand-select European oak butts. This expensive process is what gives the whiskey its famous flavors of dried fruit, figs, and nuts. It is one of the most consistently decorated whiskies on Earth. It has won "Irish Whiskey of the Year" and "World Whisky of the Year" accolades multiple times from sources like The Whisky Bible and the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
