Why Legendary Master Distiller Jimmy Russell—who has been at the distillery since 1954 and is the longest-tenured active distiller in the world—is famously a "bourbon man" and historically never cared much for rye whiskey. Because Jimmy didn't push the rye program, it remained a tiny, cult-classic fraction of their business. However, his son Eddie and grandson Bruce Russell absolutely loved the spicy spirit and are credited with expanding the rye program into what it is today. |
